Linux virtual machines hosted in India

Antarix Grid offers early-access virtual machines for web applications, internal tools, and development and testing. Your VM workload and its primary stored data are hosted in India. Our team reviews your requirements and available capacity before proposing an environment.

Comparing Linux VPS hosting in India?

A virtual private server (VPS) commonly gives you a virtual machine on a shared physical host. When comparing a VPS with an Antarix VM, check the actual resources, access and management included in each proposal. The name alone does not tell you whether you receive a public IP, managed updates or backups.

Antarix’s current managed VM path uses ARM64 Linux. Check that your application, container images and any third-party binaries support ARM64; an x86-only image cannot be assumed to work. Share your stack before ordering so we can review compatibility. Provisioning is team-assisted during early access.

For a public website or API, discuss domain-based HTTPS routing. If your application needs public SSH, a dedicated public IP or custom inbound ports, the current offer will not meet that requirement. Review the networking limits below before comparing prices.

Before you request a VM: networking limits

Our initial recommendation is to use early-access VMs for websites and web applications reached through a domain over HTTPS. Tell us how users and external services must connect before you commit.

  • No dedicated public IP. A dedicated public IPv4 or IPv6 address is not included. A website being reachable by its domain does not give your VM a public IP.
  • Browser terminal access. Access to an assigned VM is through the customer console. Direct public SSH and arbitrary inbound TCP/UDP ports are not included.
  • Check non-web workloads first. Game servers, VPN servers, mail servers and services needing custom public ports are not supported by the current early-access offer. Public database connections are not included.
  • Confirm application limits. Tell us about large uploads, long-running requests, live connections, outbound email and third-party IP allowlists. Upload, request-duration and transfer limits must be agreed for your workload; a fixed outbound IP is not included.

Public-IP add-ons and additional access methods are future options, not available plan features. Ask us to review your connectivity requirements before requesting provisioning.

What you can do today

Once your account and environment are assigned, sign in to the Antarix customer console and open your VM terminal in your browser. Our team provisions the environment during early access. Requests for a new VM, a configuration change or additional access go through the team.

Choose a configuration for your workload

Tell us your operating-system requirements, application stack, expected traffic, memory, storage and access needs. We review whether the workload fits the service, then agree the configuration, price in INR and operational responsibilities with you. Availability depends on the workload and capacity review.

  • Business websites and light APIs: describe the busiest expected period, requests that do uncached work and any database running alongside the application.
  • Internal tools and staging: specify who needs access, how sensitive test data is handled and when the environment must be available.
  • Background jobs: provide typical run duration, memory use and any external connections. Confirm sustained CPU capacity and scheduling before relying on the VM for continuous work.

RAM must cover the operating system, application and database together. Disk capacity must leave room for logs, updates and temporary files. A vCPU count alone does not describe sustained CPU availability; ask for the resource limits in your proposal. See our hosting sizing checklist and VM pricing and quote inputs.

What to confirm before going live

  • The VM configuration and any resource limits.
  • Who manages the application, operating system and updates.
  • Connectivity, access permissions and the people who need a terminal.
  • Backup, restore, support and migration responsibilities in your proposal.
